Constantin Film AG said it will produce two additional films based on the Resident Evil franchise, according to the Hollywood Reporter. The third film will be entitled Resident Evil: Afterlife and will once again star Milla Jovovich as Alice. The story will be set in the South-Western United States (with filming actually done in Australia). The untitled fourth film will take place in Tokyo.

The second film Resident Evil: Apocalypse earned more than $50 million in the box office. Paul W.S. Anderson, who directed the first Resident Evil film and wrote the script for the second one, will return to write the script for the new films.
