THQ's October 12 8-K, filed with the SEC, reveals that the company has signed a license with Nintendo to use their IP in upcoming games.
THQ licenses Nintendo IP (GamesIndustry.biz)
- License covers THQ-developed games as well as contracts to develop or manufacture games
- Applies to Wii platform only
- Lasts until October 13, 2009
- Nintendo is charging a royalty and manufacturing fees
- Nintendo reserves the right to approve the games' names, packaging, printed material accompanying the game, and marketing
- Unknown what property this agreement actually covers
