Ubisoft has opened the official teaser website for Red Steel, its exclusive title for Nintendo's next-generation home console codenamed Revolution. The site lets users take hold of a gun or katana with their mouse to respectively shoot and slice the webpage open. Perhaps an ode to the feeling we'll get with the Revolution controller? Besides the short opening, the site is currently bare of content however allows users to sign-up for Ubisoft's mailing list to receive future notifications on the game.
Red Steel places the player in a first-person perspective and with intimate use of the Revolution controller, provides players several tools to slay enemies including modern guns or even a katana. Red Steel is being developed by Ubisoft Paris, a studio known for such titles as Prince of Persia, Splinter Cell, and Ghost Recon. Information on the game was first leaked on the internet a week ago via Game Informer Magazine.
Red Steel is expected to make an appearance and will likely be playable at the May 2006 Electronic Entertainment Expo in Los Angeles.
