Actimagine, previously responsible for the technology underlying the Game Boy Advance Video line of cartridges, has announced that Nintendo has incorporated its codec technology into Game Boy Advance and Nintendo DS SDKs at no charge to licensees.
On the Nintendo DS, the codec can supply 256x192 video at 30fps with stereo sound in a range of bitrates. The technology has already been used in Metroid Prime Hunters: First Hunt and Japan-only release Jump! Super Stars.
