Game On—a major exhibition tracking and analyzing the history of video games—has commenced at the Australian Centre for the Moving Image in Melbourne.
The exhibition covers just about every facet of gaming history and design and features a number of talks from those who helped to shape the early game industry.
Also featured are playable (and non-playable) games and consoles dating from the 1960s to the present, in addition to some highly rare examples of consoles, controllers, arcade machines, packaging and collectibles.
Original Shigeru Miyamoto conceptual sketches are also featured at the show, as well as other unique and rarely-seen products.
Nintendo feature prominently at the show and are providing a Wi-Fi hot spot for downloadable DS content (including demos of Brain Training, More Brain Training, Club House Games, Custom Robo Arena, Big Brain Academy and The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass).
Further exhibition details (including an online tour) can be found at the Game on page on the ACMI web site.
